There are various categories and names of traditional Korean snacks depending on the ingredients and cooking method.


  • ‘Milgwa’ is an oil made by kneading grain flour and frying it in oil.
  • ‘Dasik’ is made by kneading powder with honey or grain syrup and placing it on a dasik plate.
  • ‘Jeonggwa’ is made by boiling cooked fruits or roots in grain syrup or honey.
  • ‘Gwapyeon’ made by boiling fruit and filtering it to harden.
  • ‘Suksilgwa’ made by boiling fruit and mixing it with other ingredients or boiling it down
  • ‘Yeot Gangjeong’ made by boiling nuts or grains in a double boiler and then mixing them with grain syrup.
