The movie 'The Host' has set a new record for the largest advance reservations for a Japanese live-action film in the past 10 years.

On the 28th, Media Castle reported that the advance reservation volume for 'The Host' (directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda) set a new record among Japanese live-action films released in the past 10 years. 'Monster' is a work that depicts the story of a mother who senses something strange in her son's behavior and visits him at school, and everyone around him who is involved in a mysterious incident goes through a whirlwind of emotions.

'Monster' begins with the controversy that shook Korea this year by capturing the story of teachers, parents, and children through a flow that points out the truth without being biased by one side's argument, and is directed by world-famous director Hirokazu Kore-eda, with his warm and sharp directing skills, Sakamoto. It contains the perfect working ensemble of screenwriter Yuji and the late music director Ryuichi Sakamoto.

At 7:30 a.m. on the 28th, based on the integrated cinema ticket network, 'The Host' recorded 26,773 pre-sale tickets, the highest grossing Japanese live-action film of all time, 'Even if this love disappears from the world tonight' (2022), at 9 a.m. the day before the release. It set a record of more than double the pre-order amount of 11,864 tickets per 30 minutes. Based on the advance reservation rate of movie theater admission tickets compiled since 2006, it is the highest record among Japanese live-action films.

Hirokazu Koreeda's new work [Monster] Current Affairs Collection of Japanese audience reviews

#A secret base for children, invisible to adults living in a distorted modern society. I am looking forward to the response after opening. And the true value of a child actor is still on display!

#The monster changes depending on whose perspective you look at this work from. The monster, the prejudice in the mind, the gaze that protects the organization, the pressure to conform, the irresponsibility, the pure heart, cannot be expressed in one word. You cannot fully appreciate the depth of Yuji Sakamoto's screenplay unless you see it multiple times.

#Director Koreeda literally said, ‘This movie contains something amazing.’ As an adult, what can I do for my children? I cried out of anger at myself for not knowing anything and emotions I couldn't sort out. This is a must see.

#The saying, 'As the perspective changes, the truth changes' has been used in many works, but when director Koreeda and Sakamoto's screenplay and the outstanding acting skills of the actors combine, such complex emotions mix together and become heartbreaking.

#Overwhelming. The cast, direction, and music are all great, but the script is so great. This is a work that must be seen without any spoilers or prior information. Everything is perfect, from misdirecting the truth to recovering the sense of discomfort. I can't distinguish between genres. I let my guard down for a moment. I saw something great.

#Someone's words, someone's actions, a precious person, a precious place, etc. It shakes the concept of the danger of judging from one side. ‘Who is the monster?’ seemed to be being asked in this direction.

#As expected, the director and screenwriter. However, since they are two different types, I don't know if the synergy will be multiplied. One thing I can say is that the children's acting in Director Koreeda's film is really great... amazing... and of course the music was also really good.

#I feel like I’ve seen a great piece of work! Wouldn’t this be ranked among the Japanese movies of the year? ‘The monster changes depending on who’s watching it’ I can’t say more because spoilers are prohibited, but it was really good.
