The English name is Republic of Korea. It extends 1,000 km to the south and borders China and Russia to the north. The total area of North and South Korea is about the same size as Britain or Romania, while South Korea is slightly larger than Hungary or Portugal and slightly smaller than Bulgaria.


70% of the country is mountainous, with gentle slopes along the West Sea and sharp slopes along the East Sea. In addition, there are many rivers compared to the area of ​​the country. The climate has four distinct seasons: hot and humid summers and cold and dry winters are long, and refreshing and clear days in spring and autumn are relatively short. The temperature drops to minus 15 degrees Celsius in winter and rises to 34 degrees Celsius in summer.


The capital of the Republic of Korea is Seoul Metropolitan City, and administratively it is divided into Seoul Metropolitan City, 1 Special Self-Governing City, 6 Metropolitan Cities, 1 Special Self-Governing Province, and 8 provinces. The total population will be counted at 51.74 million in 2021.


The national language of the Republic of Korea is Korean, and Korean characters are in principle used exclusively, but Chinese characters are written together only when absolutely necessary. The currency is won, the national flag is Taegeukgi, the national anthem is the national anthem, and the national flower is the Mugunghwa.
